After months of struggling to find the perfect salt cellar, I decided to design one myself.
It was important to me that it was handmade in the UK, ideally in Stoke-on-Trent, the home of potteries. After much research, I finally found a small family-run studio who agreed to make them for me in small batches.
I wanted the design to feel both natural and elegant, which is why I left the outside unglazed, only glazing the inside. The turning lines on the outside of the salt cellar are the result of a happy accident!
It sits on a gentle pivot, making it easy for turning. The cellar measures 45cm in circumference, approx 9cm high and 13cm wide, with a generous 9cm diameter opening, making it easy to get your hand in.
This item is handmade from a natural material, so each item will be slightly different.
